Images of spectacular sporting achievements at the 2018 Commonwealth Games will be seen on television screens throughout the world, thanks to the events’ host broadcaster, NEP.

Students undertaking studies in screen and media, sound production, technical production and IT have been provided with insight and inspiration relating to the many broadcast roles involved in connecting the world to a large scale event.

NEP Head of Broadcast Training, Ms Gerry O’Leary talked TAFE Queensland Gold Coast students through role descriptions and opportunities with NEP, pre, during and post 2018.

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast students have a fantastic opportunity to learn from very knowledgeable teachers, and apply and build on these skills with NEP’, said Ms O’Leary.

NEP is supporting students to expand skills and experiences through work placements at outside broadcast events throughout Queensland. These opportunities will assist in building the workforce necessary to broadcast the 2018 Commonwealth games to an international audience.
